Here is a little bit of what we did and saw in Death Valley during Spring Break this year.
We really enjoyed our time there, esp. at the huge Sand Dunes just in from the first major civilization (Ranger Station and Gas) on the west side.

The day before we went to the Golden Gate Bridge, Jack splashed hot honey onto his face and neck. The hot honey produced nearly instantaneous second degree burns. Here they are a day or two later.
